I was exploring some Celtic sea folklore and looking for models, shells and items to put some inspiration on paper, and I found a photo of a sculpture of a mermaid created by artist Nicole West (check her gorgeous polymer figurines, they are lovely!) and that sculpture inspired me for sketching this form. I just turned it into a deep-sea spirit instead.
